Franklin Automation has established itself as one of Chicagolands leading Automation Manufacturers

Franklin Automation

Franklin Automation was founded in 1990 by Frank M. Kigyos after a successful 32 year career with the Anchor Brush Co. in Montgomery, IL. It was during this time that Frank learned the business of machine building where he first worked in the company’s tool room fabricating machine parts and building assembly machines. Later he managed production departments and eventually became plant manager of the company’s Technical Center where he managed a staff of over 40 machine builders responsible for designing and assembling all of the company’s automated processing and assembly machines.

After a successful start-up of Franklin Automation, Frank was eventually joined by his two sons Frank and Kevin who currently manage the company’s operations in Sugar Grove, IL. It was during the early years that the company developed the reputation for designing and building heavy duty innovative machinery backed by reliable and timely customer service. Today the company boasts a strong customer base throughout the country spanning several industries.

Our in-house operations include Mechanical and Controls engineering, Parts Fabrication, Machine Assembly, Debug and Installation. All projects are designed in Solid Works 3D CAD software and our machine controls platform is highly developed for most major brands of controllers. PLC and HMI programming platforms have been honed over the years to provide machine operators and maintenance technicians with tremendous feedback in easy to navigate screens including illustrations, I/O feedback, data tracking, timer data and more. The mechanics of our machinery has also been a considered a strength since our engineering department has evolved from the days of cam controlled operations to today’s CNC motion controlled world.

With our core competencies firmly planted in the design and build of stand-alone and integrated assembly and testing machines, we’ve developed expertise in a range of industries including: Automotive, Medical and Dental Device, Brush and Broom, Cosmetic and Decoratinig, and Packaging Line Integrated Transfer & Loading systems. While we are knowledgeable on standards and requirements in each of these fields we do not limit ourselves to these industries, and welcome your inquiries on machinery for other purposes.
